Veterans Day Ceremony

Tomorrow, November 11th, 2021 11:00 AM the Veteran’s Council will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony at the WWI Monument located at South Wellwood Avenue and Hoffman Avenue. South Wellwood Avenue and Hoffman Avenue will be closed for the duration of the ceremony.

The Village of Lindenhurst will be asphalting this roadway on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 10, 2021. (WEATHER PERMITTING).

Please Note all motor vehicles must be off the street and out of driveways, if usage is required, by 11:00 AM; the streets will be reopened in the late afternoon.

The Village will make every effort to limit your inconvenience and keep the roads passable. Please bear with us as we make this much-needed improvement to our Village.

LINDENHURST HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND

Suffolk County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey (left) and Village Trustee Patrick Pichichero (right) enjoyed a Friday night half-time performance of the Lindenhurst High School Marching Band during the recent LHS Football team Division II playoff game victory over Connetquot.  The marching band is under the direction of Kevin Pike (middle).

“The entire Lindenhurst Community has much to be proud of in this special group of hard-working, dedicated students,” said Mr. Pike.

“We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the LHS Band Director Kevin Pike for the band’s rousing performance, in front of the hometown Lindenhurst Bulldog crowd,” said Trustee Pichichero.

School Street Parking Lot

In the Village’s ongoing efforts to revitalize the Downtown Business District, the municipal parking lot located on West Hoffman Avenue and School Street is under reconstruction. The municipal parking lot will be reconfigured to increase the parking capacity, with a new asphalt parking area, and improve landscaping. The construction of the parking lot will be ongoing until the end of November 2021. Please bear with us during this time of reconstruction. Lindy Community Cares “Trick or Trunk”

The Lindenhurst Moose Lodge #1421 participated in the Lindenhurst Community Cares “Trick or Trunk” event by serving hot chocolate on a very cold, windy Fall night.  Pictured here, serving the hot chocolate, are Moose Lodge President Paul LaMartina, Vice President Bridgette Ahlers, along with Village Administrator Clerk Douglas Madlon.

LINDENHURST “MOOSE-O-WEEN” PARTY

The Lindenhurst Moose Lodge held a spook-tacular “Moose-O-Ween” celebration.  The evening featured delicious food, outstanding entertainment by Gerry Ferretti, and a Halloween Costume contest.  Pictured here, enjoying a Halloween cake donated by Mayor Michael Lavorata and Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle, are Helene & Don Allen.  Mrs. Allen won first place in the costume contest.

Mayor Lavorata said, “Thank you to Lindenhurst Moose Lodge President Paul LaMartina for sponsoring such a wonderful, fun-filled Halloween party!”
