Dear Residents, Summer is just around the corner in the Village of Lindenhurst, bringing with it longer days, warmer weather, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy everything our community has to offer. Whether you’re attending a local event, visiting our downtown businesses, spending time with family and friends, or enjoying our beautiful waterfront, there is no shortage of ways to make the most of the season. The Village of Lindenhurst will be paving the following locations on Thursday, June 18 and Friday, June 19, Monday June 22, Tuesday June 23rd weather permitting: First Street (Hoffman Avenue to Montauk Highway) 28th Street (Strongs Avenue and Albany Avenue) 29th Street (Strongs Avenue and Cortland Street) 30th Street (Strongs Avenue and Albany Avenue) 32nd Street (Catskill Avenue to New York Avenue) Please note that all motor vehicles must be removed from the street by 7:00 AM. If you will need access to your vehicle during the day, it should also be moved out of your driveway before 7:00 AM,

LINDENHURST VFW WADE-BURNS POST 7279 CELEBRATES 80TH ANNIVERSARY

Local Spotlight
The Lindenhurst Veterans of Foreign Wars Wade-Burns Post 7279 recently celebrated its 80th anniversary with an Open House event that included a special ceremony honoring the Post, its Past Commander Thomas A. Kelly, and the Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst’s “Hometown Heroes” Program. On May 18, 1946, a group of 50 local overseas combat veterans established the Lindenhurst VFW Wade-Burns Post 7279. The Post was proudly named in honor and memory of Lindenhurst servicemen United States Army Corporal John M. “Jack” Wade and United States Navy Seaman First Class Edward J. Burns, who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II.
