New Two-Family Permits – Residents of the Village of Lindenhurst wishing to obtain a two-family permit for the first time must fill out the application listed below and have it notarized. Once the application is completed, an inspection and public hearing will be scheduled.

>> New Two-Family Permit Application – New

The following items must be submitted:

  • Completed application.
  • Completed, full disclosure affidavit.
  • Copy of deed.
  • Copy of certificate of occupancy.
  • Copy of recent, accurate survey.
  • Closing statement for new ownership, if necessary.
  • A drawn set of floor plans for each unit. Show size and location of all rooms, as well as the size and location of all doors and windows.
  • Parking plan showing off-street parking for four vehicles. Each parking space must measure at least 9 ft. x 19 ft. (Indicate on copy of survey or provide picture of four cars parked in driveway.)
  • A fee of $200.00 and a sign permit fee of $20.00 per sign. Checks are payable to the Village of Lindenhurst.

Renewal of Two-Family Permits – Two-family permits in the Village must be renewed every year. A public hearing is required every four years, unless otherwise stated. If the renewal does not require a public hearing, then please fill out the simple renewal form. If the renewal does require a public hearing, as indicated on the two-family permit, then please fill out the renewal with the public hearing form.

  • If the renewal does not require a public hearing, then please fill out this application:

  • If the renewal requires a public hearing, then please fill out this application:

Renewal of Second Kitchen for Personal Use Permits – Two-family permits in the Village must be renewed every year. A public hearing is required every two years, unless otherwise stated. If the renewal does not require a public hearing, then please fill out the form with no public hearing. If the renewal does require a public hearing, as indicated on the permit, then please fill out the renewal with the public hearing form.

Public Hearings – Public hearings are required for two-family permits as follows:

  • New Two-Family Permits: All new two-family applicants must have a public hearing.
  • Renewal of Two-Family Permits: Public hearing is required every four years, unless otherwise stated.
  • Renewal of Second Kitchen for Personal Use Permit: Second Kitchen for Personal Use permits must be renewed every year. A public hearing is required every two years, unless otherwise stated. If the renewal does not require a public hearing, then please fill out the form with no public hearing. If this renewal does require a public hearing, as indicated on the permit, then please fill out the renewal with public hearing form.
