A MESSAGE FROM LINDENHURST MAYOR MICHAEL LAVORATA On Sunday, September 11, 2022, the Village of Lindenhurst held their “Lindenhurst Remembers” 21st Year Candlelight Memorial Service. Many Village community organizations, members of the Lindenhurst Fire Department, and elected officials came together to pay solemn tribute to those who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and to remember those who heroically helped in the rescue recovery efforts that followed at Ground Zero. Built in January 1901 as the third depot to serve the Breslau/Lindenhurst community, the Society will celebrate the buildings’ 125th Anniversary with the completion of a 2 year-long renovation project enhancing both buildings and the adjoining railroad hack. Lindenhurst, NY – The Lindenhurst Historical Society invites residents, history buffs, and railroad aficionados to take a “sneak peek” at the newly renovated Freight House, one of the three buildings that make up the museum complex at Irmisch Historic Park, located at the intersection of South Broadway and South Third Street on Saturday March 28, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
