Mayor's Message

Dear Residents, As we enter September and the fall season begins, I want to extend my best wishes to all of our students, families, and teachers as they start a new school year. This is always an exciting time filled with fresh opportunities, new routines, and community spirit. It is also a time when we see an increase in traffic around our schools and neighborhoods. I urge all motorists to be extra cautious during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal. JANUARY 23, 2026 SANITATION CHANGE

In the News

In anticipation of the impending snow storm, the following changes have been made to the sanitation schedule for next week: There will be no sanitation or recycling pickup on Monday, January 26. South side of LIRR sanitation will be picked up on Tuesday, January 27, along with R1 and R2 recycling. North side of LIRR sanitation will be picked up on Wednesday, along with R3 recycling. No grass/leaf pickup that week. These temporary changes to the sanitation schedule allow Department of Public Works staff to focus on storm response and recovery efforts.
