Mayor's Message
Welcome to Autumn!  The leaves are falling all around us and the air is a bit crisp but it is a wonderful time of year.  Pretty soon, the Holidays will be upon us and our Village will be bustling with our annual end of year events for all to enjoy. But first, I must thank you all for your kindness, compassion and prayers throughout the last 18 plus months.  Our first lady, Helen was a fighter and battled a brain tumor gallantly and fiercely.  In the end, it was all too much for her and she went to heaven on

ST. PATRICK’S PARADE POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

In the News
Due to the safety concerns we are facing with this Saturday’s weather forecast (100% rain!), the Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade Committee has been advised to make the difficult decision to POSTPONE our parade until Saturday, March 30th @ 12:00PM.   We know that so many in our community have been busy making plans, so we can appreciate any disappointment over this news.  However, we are excited and hopeful that next weekend will bring us better weather and we can still have a successful parade! The Lindenhurst Historical Society celebrates our Village’s German Origins during this year’s Volksmarch, Sunday September 15, 2024

Local Spotlight
In conjunction with Breslau Engine Company’s Annual German Festival, the Society will host the noncompetitive fitness walk touring Lindenhurst historical sites. Lindenhurst, NY – On September 15, 2024 in celebration of the Village’s German origins and the community’s founding as Breslau 154 years ago, the Society will be hosting its second annual Volksmarch. Volksmarching was founded in Germany over 50 years ago. Participants are invited to stroll through the Village stopping at designated historically relevant sites.  The noncompetitive walk is approximately 3 miles in length and can be easily traversed at a leisurely gait.
