Mayor's Message
The Village of Lindenhurst is preparing to begin work on a project to improve pedestrian and traffic safety on Wellwood Avenue, in the heart of the Downtown Business District. Funded partly through a Suffolk County Jumpstart Grant, this project will include the installation of pedestrian crosswalks, sidewalk bulbouts and median extensions, repaving and curbing of the road, and restriping and reangling of parking spaces. An additional component of this “facelift” to our Downtown, will be the planned removal, relocation, and replanting of trees along Wellwood Avenue. Many tree species that were planted long ago have turned out to be unsuitable

Reminder: Village Taxes Due April 1, 2026

In the News
Village of Lindenhurst property taxes are due by April1, 2026. Please make sure your payment is submitted on or before the due date to avoid late penalties. If you have a mortgage with an escrow account, your tax bill will be mailed directly to your mortgage company.  Payment Options: In-Person – Pay by cash, check, money order, or credit card at Village Hall (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:30 PM).A non-refundable service fee of 2.95% applies to all credit card payments (both in person and online). This fee is charged by the credit card processing company and does not go to the Village.

Our 2026 Junior Mayors marched into office at the Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade, proudly representing the Village!

Local Spotlight
The Village of Lindenhurst is proud to share that the 2026 Junior Mayors made their first official appearance in office by marching in the Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 21st. Freshly sworn in at the March 3rd Village Board meeting, the Junior Mayors enthusiastically represented the community, celebrating local pride and tradition. Their participation marks an exciting start to their term, and we look forward to seeing their continued involvement throughout the year!
