CORONAVIRUS UPDATE #5 FROM MAYOR MICHAEL LAVORATA   April 29, 2020   Dear Village Residents: Thank you for your continued support as the Governor’s stay-at-home order continues in place, and has now been extended to May 15th. As I write this, there are 447 reported people in Lindenhurst Village with the Coronavirus. I pray for each and every one of them for a speedy recovery. 2024 GRAND MARSHAL THOMAS ALOISI — KOREAN WAR VETERAN

Thomas Aloisi is the current Senior Vice Commander of the Wade-Burns VFW Post 7279.  As a proud and patriotic American, and influenced by the selfless sacrifices of prior generations, after graduating from high school in 1951, Tom signed up to serve his country in the Korean War. Tom served for four (4) years with the United States Navy.  He did his Basic Training in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by Radio School in San Diego, California.  He was trained there as a Radio Communications Technician before being sent off to Yokohama, Japan. 2024 KIENLE AWARDS TO OUTSTANDING CAMPERS

Local Spotlight
The Lindenhurst Board of Trustees recently recognized and honored this year’s Village of Lindenhurst Summer Camp “Kienle Award” winners. Named after Summer Camp Program Founder Ed Kienle, the prestigious annual awards are given to the most Outstanding Campers. This year’s award winners are Lexi Varricchio & Nick Gordon. Summer Youth Director Mike Canobbio praised both campers for their leadership, cooperation, enthusiasm, and for setting the standard for all other campers to follow. Mayor Michael Lavorata said, “This season marked the 75th Anniversary of the Lindenhurst Summer Camp, and the Village is so proud of the history and success of this
