MESSAGE FROM MAYOR MICHAEL LAVORATA   June 3, 2020   Dear Village Residents: I do not generally write about issues that happen in other communities. However, since George Floyd’s tragic death in Minneapolis has impacted all communities, throughout our nation, as your Mayor, I would like to share some of my thoughts. First and foremost, my goal is to maintain the safety and security of everyone. LINDENHURST STATION ALERT FROM THE LIRR

In the News
Starting July 15th, the LIRR will be taking both the escalator and adjoining stairs out of service at the Lindenhurst Station. The escalator will be out of service for approximately 3 weeks while the stairs will be out of service for 3 days (coming back into service on July 18th). This is to correct the ramp that leads up to the escalator itself, which is at a gradient that is not compliant with the latest ADA standards and also to replace those railings. The Lindenhurst Historical Society is the recipient of a 2024 NYSCA/Greater Hudson Heritage Network Preservation Supplies Grant

This is the second consecutive year the Lindenhurst Historical Society has garnered funding allowing the Society to acquire collection management and preservation supplies. Lindenhurst, NY – During a recent exhibit-organizing work session at the nearly renovated Old Village Hall Museum, Lindenhurst Museum Director Marianne Guglieri and Lindenhurst Village Historian Anna Jaeger paused to demonstrate how newly acquired collection management supplies will expand and improve the Lindenhurst Historical Society’s conservation and preservation supplies and practices. This is the second consecutive year the Lindenhurst Historical Society successfully garnered a NYSCA/Greater Hudson Heritage Network Preservation Supplies Grant.
