With the fall season upon us, we also move into hurricane season. I think it is appropriate to remind our residents to be prepared. Here are some important tips to keep in mind for your planning: If a tropical storm, or hurricane, hits and power is interrupted, residents should be prepared to shelter at home. At a minimum, everyone should have on hand: 3 days of food 7 days of medication 3 gallons of drinking water per person LED flashlights A battery-powered AM radio Make sure to have extra cash on hand if a storm is approaching, and be sure

As warmer weather approaches and many residents begin preparing their pools for the season, the Village of Lindenhurst would like to remind everyone of an important community responsibility. It is a violation of Village Code (158-7) for both residents and commercial pool companies to pump or discharge pool water into the street. This runoff does not simply disappear—it flows into storm drains, enters local waterways (creeks and canals), and ultimately impacts the Great South Bay. The Village of Lindenhurst is proud to share that the 2026 Junior Mayors made their first official appearance in office by marching in the Lindenhurst St. Patrick’s Parade on Saturday, March 21st. Freshly sworn in at the March 3rd Village Board meeting, the Junior Mayors enthusiastically represented the community, celebrating local pride and tradition. Their participation marks an exciting start to their term, and we look forward to seeing their continued involvement throughout the year!
