Mayor's Message
The Village of Lindenhurst is preparing to begin work on a project to improve pedestrian and traffic safety on Wellwood Avenue, in the heart of the Downtown Business District. Funded partly through a Suffolk County Jumpstart Grant, this project will include the installation of pedestrian crosswalks, sidewalk bulbouts and median extensions, repaving and curbing of the road, and restriping and reangling of parking spaces. An additional component of this “facelift” to our Downtown, will be the planned removal, relocation, and replanting of trees along Wellwood Avenue. All proceeds will benefit the Lindenhurst Historical Society’s on-going stewardship of the Village’s three museums Lindenhurst, NY –Back by popular demand, the Lindenhurst Historical Society is hosting its second annual Televised Night at the Races, Saturday June 13, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Fireman’s Memorial Pavilion, 555 Heling Blvd., Lindenhurst. Admission is $15.00 per person. All are invited to attend and enjoy an evening of fun and real cash wagering. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. VILLAGE PARK PLAYGROUND REPAIRS

Local Spotlight
The Village of Lindenhurst is pleased to announce that the playground at Village Park has officially reopened. Thanks to favorable temperatures and sunny weather, the Department of Public Works was able to complete temporary patchwork to address hazardous areas of the playground’s rubber surfacing. The Village is currently in the bid phase for a full replacement of the playground’s rubber surface, which has deteriorated in certain areas due to the high volume of use the park receives.
