For most of our residents, 4th of July celebrations include backyard BBQ’s, swimming, boating with family and friends, and often involve fireworks. That being said, I would like to remind everyone that fireworks — aerial consumer fireworks, firecrackers and chasers, skyrockets, roman candles, bombs, and metal wire sparklers — are illegal in New York State. Fireworks are beautiful, but dangerous, and the use of fireworks can often lead to devastating injuries. An unplanned trip to the emergency room, or worse, can wreck any holiday. Mayor Lavorata invites residents of the Village of Lindenhurst to attend the 3rd annual State of the Village address on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The event will take place at the Rainbow Room, located at 293 Buffalo Avenue (entrance closest to 34th Street) at 6:30 PM. The Mayor will provide a review of the previous year and discuss upcoming projects and improvements taking place in the Village of Lindenhurst. Local Spotlight

The Village of Lindenhurst recently held a press conference to help promote the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services FreshConnect Checks Program, and the federal Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP). Both of these programs enable eligible participants – including veterans, service members, their families, and qualified, low-income senior citizens – to purchase healthy, fresh, local fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ markets and farm stands. One of those participating markets is the Lindenhurst Farmers Market, opening for the season on Saturday, May 10th, at Lindenhurst Village Square Park.
