A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR: HURRICANE HENRI UPDATE (8/21/2021 @ 5:00 PM)

Mayor's Message
The latest model guidance on Hurricane Henri shows landfall over eastern Long Island and Southern Connecticut in about 24 hours.  Hurricane wind conditions are expected in our area late tonight into Sunday morning, possibly causing widespread power outages.  Henri is expected to produce rainfall amounts from 3 to 6 inches with isolated totals in some areas as high as 10 inches. The combination of storm surge and the new moon will cause tides to run abnormally high.  Areas that routinely flood along the shoreline will be inundated.  Residents are urged to move their vehicles to higher ground.  In order to

State of the Village

In the News
Mayor Lavorata invites residents of the Village of Lindenhurst to attend the 3rd annual State of the Village address on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The event will take place at the Rainbow Room, located at 293 Buffalo Avenue (entrance closest to 34th Street) at 6:30 PM. The Mayor will provide a review of the previous year and discuss upcoming projects and improvements taking place in the Village of Lindenhurst. VILLAGE OF LINDENHURST NY FORWARD SMALL PROJECTS GRANT FUND — OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Local Spotlight
The Village of Lindenhurst is excited to announce that grant applications for our NY Forward Small Projects Fund are now available! The Lindenhurst community has been awarded funds through the New York State NY Forward (NYF) program to fund catalytic projects in the downtown to spur revitalization. As part of the overall NY Forward Project, the State awarded $300,000 towards a Small Projects Fund. Applicants with smaller projects (total project cost less than $100,000) can apply for funding under this program to complete these projects. The deadline for applications is August 27, 2025.
