A mask mandate for shops and other indoor spaces in New York State took effect on Monday, December 13th to confront a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. Governor Hochul’s mandate requires masks to be worn in all indoor public buildings, unless the businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement. The mask mandate will be in effect until January 15, 2022. At this stage, Lindenhurst residents have no other choice but to comply with the Governor’s mask mandate. The Village is seeking one part-time employee (17 hours per week) to serve as a Van Driver and Bingo Caller for the Rainbow Senior Center. Position includes:• Picking up and dropping off seniors for scheduled programs• Safely operating the Village van• Assisting passengers as needed• Calling bingo and helping with senior activities This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with seniors and being part of a positive community environment. A Lindenhurst dock space can be applied for through a lottery held by the Village. The lottery is open to residents and non-residents. The completed lottery must be received at Village Hall, 430 South Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst, NY 11757 or sent through email at info@villageoflindenhurstny.gov by April 1, 2026.
