Cub Scouts Plant Tree for Arbor Day

As part of the Village’s Arbor day Celebration Cub Scout Pack 60 assisted the Village Horticulturist in planting a tree on West Gates Avenue. Mayor Michael Lavorata said, “What a wonderful way to celebrate Arbor Day by having our Cub Scouts plant a tree.” Pictured here with the Scouts are Village employee Keith Arco, Horticulturist John Kehoe, Cub Scout Co-Leader David Collins, Trustee Joan Masterson, Mayor Michael Lavorata, Administrator Douglas Madlon and Cub Scout Co-Leader Jenn Ferrarelli.

Lindenhurst Rotary Club President Honored

Gaye Kienle has completed two years as the President of the Rotary Club of Lindenhurst. During the July meeting, Lindenhurst Mayor Michael Lavorata and Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle presented her with a proclamation thanking her for her tenure and commitment to “Service Above Self.” The proclamation designated July 9, 2021 as “Gaye E. Kienle Day” in the Village of Lindenhurst. Mayor Lavorata said, “Gaye’s leadership and hard work kept the Rotary Club flourishing during the challenging, unprecedented year of the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are thankful that the good works of the Rotary Club, such as supporting local food pantries,
