Mayor Michael Lavorata is pleased to provide residents with the revised Downtown Redevelopment Ordinance. This Ordinance has been created to encourage pleasant and attractive multifamily residential development in proximity to the Lindenhurst Long Island Railroad Station and Downtown Business District. It is hoped that if this law is approved, it will help spur positive growth and development in our downtown, replace less desirable development and blight, and provide an inviting alternative to housing in a single family residential type settling.
The revisions to the Ordinance have been the product of a public hearing, numerous Village Board meetings and several months of review with that as a backdrop. The Village Board hopes to vote on the Local Law at its Board meeting on June 6, 2017.
The revisions can be found on the Village’s website by clicking here. It can also be found in the notices section (located under ‘resources’). Hard copies of the text are also available at Lindenhurst Village Hall.
We welcome your comments regarding the proposed ordinance at any time in writing, or at the public portions of any of the next two Board meetings on May 16, 2017 or June 6, 2017.
For more information, contact Douglas Madlon at Lindenhurst Village Hall (631) 957-7500.
