A MESSAGE FROM LINDENHURST MAYOR MICHAEL LAVORATA I want to offer congratulations to the Lindenhurst High School Class of 2023! We wish you all great success as you begin your next journey, and may you carry your “Lindy Pride” with you wherever you go! It would not have been the beginning of summer without the Lindenhurst Memorial Day Parade, honoring Americans who died while serving in the armed forces. Adams Avenue Madison Avenue Roosevelt Avenue Delta Street Gulf Street The Village of Lindenhurst will be milling & paving this section of roadway (WEATHER PERMITTING) beginning at 7:00am on the following: • WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2026 – Milling • FRIDAY, AUGUST 28, 2026 — Paving Please Note, all motor vehicles must be off the streets and out of driveways, if usage is required, by 7:00 am; the streets will be reopened in the late afternoon. The Village will make every effort to limit your inconvenience and keep the roads passable. Please bear with us as we make these much-needed improvements

LINDENHURST VFW WADE-BURNS POST 7279 CELEBRATES 80TH ANNIVERSARY

Local Spotlight

The Lindenhurst Veterans of Foreign Wars Wade-Burns Post 7279 recently celebrated its 80th anniversary with an Open House event that included a special ceremony honoring the Post, its Past Commander Thomas A. Kelly, and the Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst’s “Hometown Heroes” Program. On May 18, 1946, a group of 50 local overseas combat veterans established the Lindenhurst VFW Wade-Burns Post 7279. The Post was proudly named in honor and memory of Lindenhurst servicemen United States Army Corporal John M. “Jack” Wade and United States Navy Seaman First Class Edward J. Burns, who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II.
