WINTERS BROS. MAKES DONATION TO LINDENHURST TREE PROJECT

Winter Bros. Waste Systems, of West Babylon, recently made an $8,500.00 donation to the Village of Lindenhurst for the planting of new trees along South Wellwood Avenue, through the heart of the Lindenhurst Downtown Business District, from Gates Avenue to Hoffman Avenue. Earlier this year, the Village began a project to improve pedestrian and traffic safety on Wellwood Avenue, including the installation of pedestrian crosswalks, sidewalk bulbouts and median extensions, repaving and curbing of the road, and restriping and reangling of parking spaces. As part of this “facelift”, the Village had to remove the trees that adorned our southern Downtown.
