As I write this message, I hope it finds you safe and dry after another week of rainy weather. In retrospect, I am so grateful for the incredible work of our Suffolk County Police Department, our Lindenhurst Fire Department & Emergency personnel, Department of Public Works, and Village Hall staff who helped us weather Tropical Storms Ida and Henri. Many of our volunteer firemen were also called in to offer mutual aid to some of our neighboring municipalities who got hit much harder than we here in Lindenhurst. Their professionalism and courage never cease to amaze me. Our hearts go

North Wellwood Avenue Improvement Project

Local Spotlight

Thanks to $1 million in funding secured through the office of Congressman Andrew Garbarino, the Village of Lindenhurst is continuing major improvements along Wellwood Avenue. You may have noticed tree removal on North Wellwood Avenue. Similar to the recent upgrades on South Wellwood, these trees will be replaced with more downtown-friendly varieties – designed with root systems that won’t disrupt sidewalks and limbs that won’t interfere with overhead wiring. This marks the first phase of the project. Just like South Wellwood Avenue, sidewalks and pavers will be fully replaced, and the North Wellwood roadway will also be repaved. And as
