Warm Weather Safety Tips

As summer approaches it is important to keep the following safety tips in mind: General Safety Tips Keep yards maintained. Overgrown grass and weeds are a prime environment for the breeding and infestation of warm weather pests such as mosquitoes and ticks. As per Village Code §43-1, grass, brush, rubbish or weeds or other rank vegetation should be no more than 12 inches above ground level. This provision does not apply to cultivated flowers and gardens, trees and shrubs. Be mindful of speed limits and traffic signs. Make sure that pool safety laws are followed. Holiday Food Drive a Success!

Babylon Town Councilman Anthony Manetta partnered with Lindenhurst Mayor Michael Lavorata, Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle, and the Lindenhurst Memorial Library to host a Holiday Food Drive to benefit local Lindenhurst food pantries. Councilman Manetta said, “The Pandemic has increased the need for food support across the Town and throughout our local communities.” Deputy Mayor Weckerle said, “Now, more than ever, we must ensure our local food pantries have what they need to serve our neighbors and local families.” The food collected was donated to the food pantries at Grace United Methodist Church & Evangel Church of God.
