Village of Lindenhurst Honors Girl Scout Troop 382 for Mural

Village of Lindenhurst Mayor Thomas A. Brennan, Deputy Mayor Mike Lavorata and Trustees Maryann Weckerle and Joan M. Masterson were honored to take part in dedicating a hand-drawn mural created by Lindenhurst Girl Scout Troop 382, entitled, “Where Will the Train Take You Today.” The mural is on display inside the Lindenhurst LIRR Station.

On a beautiful, July night, the Village of Lindenhurst, along with the Lindenhurst Memorial Library, Lindenhurst Business Improvement District, and Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce, sponsored its first drive-up movie night. Village residents and their families gathered in the LIRR commuter parking lot, many taking advantage of the take-out food from our local eateries, and enjoyed the movie, the outdoors, and the community fellowship. Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle, who organized the event, said, “The drive-up movie is a great idea to offer our Lindenhurst families a social night out while maintaining social distancing.” Mayor Michael Lavorata said, “I was pleased to
