Mayor’s Beautification Society Merchant of the Year Award Ceremony

The Mayor’s Beautification Society of Lindenhurst proudly announces Spasso Pizzeria Merchant of the Year 2019 The Award Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 6:30 PM- 9:00 PM at the BACCA Arts Center located at 149 North Wellwood Avenue. A donation of $20.00 can be paid by check to the Village of Lindenhurst. Donation checks can be dropped off in advance to Lindenhurst Village Hall. Please RSVP by January 15, 2020 to Maryann Weckerle at mw191@aol.com or by phone (631) 379-8807. Light fare, beverages, and dessert will be served.

Local Spotlight

International Overdose Awareness Day marked its 21st anniversary on August 31st. Its purpose is to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends and spread the message that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable. Over the last year, the COVID-19 pandemic and opioid crisis have converged, and overdose fatalities, that had fallen in recent years, seem to be heading back to an all-time high.
