VILLAGE ANNOUNCES PROJECT AT VILLAGE PARK

The Village of Lindenhurst has announced plans for a project at Village Park (off of North Alleghany Avenue, between Byrd Street & Charles Street), which will include renovations to the tennis and basketball courts, as well as the addition of two pickleball courts. The project is expected to begin construction by the end of October. Trustee RJ Renna said, “Pickleball is a growing sport and these courts will provide a central location in our Village for residents to play this game.” Mayor Michael Lavorata added, “The two pickleball courts will be a nice enhancement to our Village Park. To ensure that they are safe and in good condition for residents, roads in the Village of Lindenhurst are assessed regularly by the Superintendent of Public Works. Re-paving schedules are determined by the funds that are available on a yearly basis, and the maintenance that is needed for the safety of our community. This year, the Village has utilized over $2 million of Federal, State, and Utility Company funds to resurface many roads and improve drainage throughout the Village.
