VILLAGE ANNOUNCES PROJECT AT VILLAGE PARK

The Village of Lindenhurst has announced plans for a project at Village Park (off of North Alleghany Avenue, between Byrd Street & Charles Street), which will include renovations to the tennis and basketball courts, as well as the addition of two pickleball courts. The project is expected to begin construction by the end of October. Trustee RJ Renna said, “Pickleball is a growing sport and these courts will provide a central location in our Village for residents to play this game.” Mayor Michael Lavorata added, “The two pickleball courts will be a nice enhancement to our Village Park. Blood Drive Held in Honor of Helen Lavorata

Shahnaz Karim of Lockwood, Kessler, and Bartlett Inc. recently sponsored a blood drive in memory of Lindenhurst Mayor Michael Lavorata’s wife Helen Lavorata. Shahnaz said, “Two years have passed since the world lost this beautiful soul. I felt a blood drive was a wonderful way to remember Helen.” The pandemic has impacted many areas of life, including the availability of blood for emergency life-saving measures. Blood drives, like the one organized in honor of Helen Lavorata, are essential to replenishing the blood inventory.
