Lindenhurst’s Rainbow Senior Center Receives Refreshed Patio from Girl Scouts

Lindenhurst Village Girl Scouts upgrade the Rainbow Senior Center patio with their artwork

In October the patio at the Rainbow Senior Center in the Village of Lindenhurst received a fantastic update of its outdoor patio area, thanks to the efforts of four diligent Lindenhurst Girl Scouts.

The four Girl Scouts – Nicole Lallier, Alyssa Demarinis, Dana Storm and Monika Orzelowski – worked for two years remaking and refreshing the patio for their Silver Award Project under the guidance of Troop Leader Jennifer Dawnkaski and the leadership of Doris Demarinis, Alyssa’s mother.

They also had the full support of mothers Joyce Lallier, Linda Storm and Joanna Orzelowski. Together, the girls worked with the Village of Lindenhurst and Barbara Poldino, director of the center, to clean up the area, repaint the pergola and exterior walls, bring in new seating, and landscape the area with new plantings, birdbath and décor. All of the seniors and residents who visit the center will surely enjoy this newly revitalized area for years to come.
