9-11 CANDLELIGHT REMEMBRANCE SERVICE

September 1, 2023 by Katie McCaffrey Leave a Comment

LOCATION CHANGE: Due to weather, the 9/11 Memorial Service location has been changed to the Fire Department Main House, 225 South Wellwood Avenue.

Please join us at 7:00 PM.

September 11, 2001 will live in the mind of every American throughout time.  America will never forget 9/11/01.  Lindenhurst will never forget.  September 11th is a time to remember all that was lost to us that day: our sense of security, our peace, our innocence, our belief that we were safe beyond such random violence.  Most of all, we remember those who lost their lives, specifically, the eight Lindenhurst residents that lost or gave their lives that horrific day.

This year, the Village of Lindenhurst will be holding our 22nd Year Candlelight Remembrance Service beginning at 7:00PM on Monday, September 11th, 2023 at the Lindenhurst Fire Department Main House, 225 South Wellwood Avenue.

Mayor Michael Lavorata said “It would be an honor to have you join us as we mark the 22nd anniversary of 9-11 and pause to remember.”

For further information about the program, call Lindenhurst Village Hall at 631-957-7500.
