Mayor Michael Lavorata and the Lindenhurst Village Board recently honored World War II Veteran and longtime Lindenhurst resident Harry Prodromides by dedicating an American Flag to be permanently on display in the Village Hall Board Room. Village Administrator Douglas Madlon said, “It is important that we continue to appreciate and honor our veterans not just on holidays, but every day.” Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle said “I am incredibly proud that the Village recognizes Harry for his many years of service serving our Country during WWII and as a Lindenhurst Fireman.”

Rainbow Center Scholarship Awarded
Marina Grais was recently presented with the Rainbow Senior Center’s $1,000.00 scholarship. Marina is a student at Lindenhurst High School. Funds for the scholarship are raised during the annual “Senior Citizen Prom.” The scholarship is open to all Lindenhurst School District students.
Pictured with Marina Grais is Barbara Poldino, Director of the Lindenhurst Rainbow Senior Center, and Village Administrator Douglas Madlon. Administrator Madlon stated, “We are so proud of Marina who will be attending Cornell University in the fall of 2017.”
