The Village of Lindenhurst held its annual Halloween Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Lindenhurst Village Park at Feller’s Pond. This annual event is hosted in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Lindenhurst and the Lindenhurst Historical Society. The Mayor’s Beautification Society (MBS) recently completed its annual holiday decorating in the Village of Lindenhurst. Each year, the Mayor’s Beautification Society of Lindenhurst fills the planters that line Wellwood Avenue with festive greens, white branches and red ribbons.
This year, the Mayor’s Beautification Society introduced a new decorating event; “Decorate a Lamplight.” Members of the MBS and their families decorated 15 additional lamp posts in the Village with holiday garland and red bows. After the decorating was done, the volunteers met back at the Lindenhurst Village Gazebo for hot chocolate and cookies.
The photos show Suffolk County Legislator Kevin J. McCaffrey hanging the garland on his family’s lamplight on South Wellwood Avenue, with a little help from MBS Member Gloria Sheahan. On North Wellwood Avenue, MBS Members Angela Rosati and Jennifer Griffin, along with Jennifer’s children Robbie and Kelly, decorated the Rosati family’s lamp post.
