Junior Mayor Attends Village Board Meeting

April 19, 2024 by Katie McCaffrey Leave a Comment

The Village Board had a special guest at the April 16th meeting! The Village Board was joined by Junior Mayor Pia Parikh. Pia is a 4th grade student at Albany Avenue and was one of the winners of the “Loving Lindenhurst” contest. Pia created an “Everything Lindy” puzzle with each piece representing a different thing she loves about Lindenhurst, including the library, Albany Avenue School, Winter on Wellwood, and more.

Pia opened the Village Board meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. She then joined the Board to follow along with the meeting’s agenda, share some of her favorite things in Lindenhurst, and even made the motion to close out the meeting!

We look forward to welcoming more of the Junior Mayors at the Village Board meetings throughout the year.
