NY-Forward Survey

October 11, 2023 by Katie McCaffrey Leave a Comment

The Lindenhurst New York-Forward (NYF) Local Planning Committee is evaluation projects proposed for inclusion in the NYF plan and want your input!

Please complete the survey at the link below (or scan the QR code) to provide your feedback on the projects that have been proposed for funding.

http://www.tinyURL.com/LindenhurstNYFsurvey

The deadline to complete the survey is November 3, 2023.

For more information about the NYF process, please visit www.lindenhurstnyf.com

The NY Forward (NYF) proposed project survey has been getting a great response from the community, but seems to have raised some questions about the NYF process.

There was an Open Call for Projects that ended July 26, that allowed public, private (privately owned businesses and property owners), and non-profit project sponsors could submit a proposal. These proposals have been reviewed by the Local Planning Committee (LPC) and that committee will vote on what projects should be part of the Strategic Investment Plan that gets submitted to the State. From there, the State will determine the projects from the Strategic Investment Plan that will receive NYF funding.

The image below will hopefully clarify the types of projects that are eligible for NYF funding and how the proposed projects are ultimately selected by New York State for funding.

The Village does not select what projects are funded and how this money is spent. The Village has, however, submitted multiple projects for consideration by NYS that would benefit the community.

For more information on the NYF process and to read the summaries of prior LPC meetings, please visit www.lindenhurstnyf.com

The next LPC meeting will be held on October 24 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Rainbow Room, 293 Buffalo Avenue.

If you have questions, emails can be sent to lindenhurstnyf@gmail.com of info@villageoflindenhurstny.gov.
