Rotary Interact Club for Young Adults

February 9, 2022 by Katie McCaffrey

The Lindenhurst Interact Club is a service group for youth, and is part of the Lindenhurst Rotary Club.  It is open to students between the ages of 12 and 18. The students meet on the first and third Monday of each month during the school year.  They hold fundraisers for local, national, and international projects.  This year, the Interact Club purchased a “Buddy Bench” for Village Park and conducted food drives for local families in need.  They also made donations to Light-up Lindy, Lindenhurst Rotary’s Dictionary Project, Kentucky tornado victims, Dove Youth Development Project, and Becky’s Beds for the homeless. Their advisors, Pat Chiodo, Gaye Kienle, and Maria Bohrer, as well as all Lindenhurst Rotarians, are so proud of these students.  The Interact Club is grateful to Mayor Michael Lavorata and Trustee Maryann Weckerle for allowing them to use the beautiful, new, multi-purpose Rainbow Room, at the Rainbow Community Center, for their meetings.

Pictured here are Lindenhurst Interact Club Students, and their Advisors, at a recent meeting.
