On August 24th, the Lindenhurst Rotary Club and Village of Lindenhurst sponsored their annual Snapper Derby at the Lindenhurst Marina. Over 80 children participated, all between the ages of 5-12. All of the Derby participants received a hotdog, snack and juice. Bicycles were awarded to two participants who caught the Heaviest Snapper, and to the participant who caught the Most Snappers. Deputy Mayor Maryann Weckerle said “What a wonderful day of sun, fun, fishing, and family bonding!”. Special thanks to all the Rotarians and Village volunteers for making our Snapper Derby a great success.
